Stardew Valley

Recover one lost stack after a mine defeat

If a monster took your last point of health and the loss screen names an item you need, decide which stack to recover before going back down. A second defeat can replace your list.

Check the loss screen and get to Marlon

Note the item names and quantities shown after a combat collapse. Being carried home at 2am is a different event; do not assume a mislaid tool or chest item is on Marlon’s list. Walk to the Adventurer’s Guild east of the mountain mine entrance. Visit from 2pm onward once you have completed Initiation. If the door tells you membership is required, read your journal and clear the monster target specified in that quest first.

The player-made guild guide marks the guild near the mountain lake on the world map.

Compare the cost of replacing each stack

Choose Item Recovery Service from Marlon’s counter. The list is the loss from one defeat. You may request one item or one whole lost stack, not one individual unit from every stack. The listed fee follows sale value, which can differ sharply from the inconvenience of finding the item again. If the choice is a common ore versus your only useful weapon, compare how you would replace each before selecting.

Collect the delivery before the next dangerous trip

The chosen stack arrives in the mail overnight rather than appearing immediately in the backpack. Check the farmhouse mailbox the next morning. You cannot return and order the other entries after making a selection. If you postpone the decision, another defeat with item loss replaces the old list; seeing a new list is a reason to stop searching for the previous stack in the recovery menu.
