Marcus's words silenced the entire room.

Mrs. Valentine frowned at Mina. "You would really dare to do an amniocentesis?"

Mina lifted her chin. "I have never betrayed the Valentines. Why wouldn't I dare!"

Mrs. Valentine hesitated. "Could the child really be…"

"Shut up!"

Marcus cut her off sharply.

He strode over to Mina and grabbed her chin.

Evelyn immediately stepped forward. "Let her go!"

But Mina pushed Marcus's hand away. "Evelyn, don't interfere."

Marcus's eyes were red. "You've made me a laughingstock across all of New York!"

Mina bit her lip and stayed silent.

Kevin stepped forward. "Marcus, there are two options. First, we announce the pregnancy was a misunderstanding and handle the child discreetly. Second… divorce."

Mina spoke instantly. "I choose the second option."

Marcus's face darkened further.

Kevin looked at Marcus. "If we divorce, the Sherwoods will take full responsibility. We will hold a press conference to apologize and protect the Valentine family's reputation."

William said anxiously, "Brother, that would ruin the Sherwood name!"

"Quiet!"

After reprimanding him, Kevin turned back to Marcus. "Marcus, which option do you choose?"

Marcus lowered his gaze. "Wouldn't a divorce just confirm I was cheated on?"

He said coldly, "Option one is the best choice for both families!"

Kevin said gratefully, "How magnanimous of you! But this is an injustice to you!"

Mr. and Mrs. Valentine spoke up. "Marcus, you don't have to sacrifice yourself for the family. If there are unresolved issues, it's better to separate."

Marcus glanced at his parents, then looked at Mina. "I choose option one! She schemed against me. She must spend her life atoning for it!"

Mr. Valentine disapproved. "Marriage is not a game. Don't make decisions out of spite."

Mrs. Valentine nodded. "Let each other go."

Marcus gritted his teeth. "She humiliated me. She must stay!"

He looked at Mina.

The thought of her leaving filled him with burning rage.

Marcus said, "Why subject yourself to this humiliation!"
