Chapter 373

The Valentine home descended into chaos.

Everyone rushed toward Joey.

Fiona was sprayed with vomit.

She fought back nausea and grabbed tissues to wipe herself.

Roy supported his son's back.

"What's wrong? Where does it hurt?"

Joey was crying and vomiting uncontrollably.

He only began to recover after his stomach was completely empty.

Fiona cleaned herself off.

But she still felt like the smell lingered.

She looked at the family doctor.

"Doctor, what's wrong with him?"

The doctor reviewed the medical report.

"Did the young master cry at preschool today?"

Fiona frowned and looked at her son.

Joey lay listlessly, complaining he was hungry.

"Have Nanny Wu prepare dinner."

"I want chips! The teacher wouldn't give me any and made me stand in timeout! I don't want to go to school!"

Fiona's expression changed instantly.

"They made you stand in timeout?"

The doctor nodded.

"It's windy outside. Inhaling cold air while crying can cause vomiting. Let's observe him for now."

Roy and the elderly lady didn't seem concerned.

Joey had always been prone to spitting up since infancy.

But Fiona remembered Grace's words.

"...you must take vomiting seriously."

She immediately shook her head to dismiss the thought.

How could she believe that woman?

She coaxed Joey through his dinner.

She only left the room after he fell asleep.

The housekeeper approached quickly.

"Madam, someone from the Ashcroft family is here."

Ethan Valentine stood in the living room.

He was tall with sharp, intense features.

He currently managed the project department at Ashcroft Group.

Fiona's eyes instantly welled with tears.

Ethan had come to deliver an invitation.

The Ashcroft family was hosting a grand banquet in one week.

The reason was unclear, but formalities had to be observed.

Noticing her expression, Ethan frowned.

"What happened?"

Roy spoke first.

"Joey was bullied at school! The new School Director made him cry in the cold courtyard! He vomited as soon as he got home!"

Ethan was stunned.

"Isn't the preschool director from the Ashcroft family? Isn't it Fiona's responsibility?"

Fiona looked down.

"Elder Brother replaced them."

"With whom?"

"Grace Nan."

Ethan recalled her.

The bridesmaid at his elder brother's wedding.

He immediately misunderstood.

"Did Elder Brother give the position to Grace Nan as a favor to his wife?"

Fiona's eyes reddened further.

"His wife dislikes me, I understand. But now that she's the lady of the house, both my child and I are being mistreated..."

Ethan's face turned cold.

"A daughter of the Ashcroft family will not be bullied! An adopted daughter is still a daughter! Leave this to me!"

He stood to leave.

"Don't worry. An Ashcroft daughter should never suffer injustice."

Fiona breathed a sigh of relief.

It seemed Third Uncle wouldn't acknowledge that daughter.

With Third Brother handling it, it was enough.

Ethan drove home.

His assistant cautiously reminded him.

"Miss Fiona is spoiled and has deep conflicts with the Madam. Young Master Marcus dotes on his wife. He may not support you."

Ethansneered.

"She is my sister."

He looked toward the lit study on the second floor.

"If I can't convince Elder Brother, I'll go to Third Uncle!"
