Mina Sherwood moved back home.

Evelyn Ross was surprised when she received the video call. "So suddenly? What about your parents..."

Mina beamed on the screen. "I'm Marcus Valentine's fiancée now. They practically worship me. They wouldn't dare lay a finger on me. Don't worry! I'm the Sherwood family's treasure now!"

Evelyn studied her eyes. "Mina, does Marcus really believe the child is his?"

Mina nodded. "He believes it. It's a shotgun wedding."

She sighed softly. "But with his playboy nature, he wouldn't marry me if not for this child."

Evelyn immediately said, "Then don't marry him! Don't let a child chain your life."

"Are you stupid?"

Mina winked at her. "Of course I have to seize this great opportunity. I don't want him. I want the status of being a Valentine! Once I marry him, let's see if Fiona and Penelope Valentine dare act arrogant in front of us again!"

Evelyn wanted to persuade her further, but Mina suddenly turned serious. "Grace, I'm not like you. I was born into a powerful family. Marriage alliances are an unavoidable duty. My reputation is already ruined. If I don't marry him, my uncle will just sell me off to another family. After thinking it over, this is the best outcome."

Evelyn still looked at her with concern. "Are you really sure?"

"I'm sure."

Mina smiled. "His parents are here to discuss the wedding. I have to go now~"

The camera panned to show several luxury cars entering the courtyard. Evelyn could only nod.

After hanging up, she looked at Alexander Vance who had just walked out. She frowned slightly. "Something feels off about Mina's mood. Did Marcus really accept it so quickly?"

Alexander said calmly, "He was willing to wear the green hat for Mina. What else wouldn't he accept?"

Evelyn tilted her head. "Is that really it?"

Marcus Valentine was currently staring at Mina, fury burning in his eyes.

She clearly said yesterday she wouldn't marry him.

His parents came today to propose. He specifically came along to see if she had changed her mind. He never expected her to actually agree?

Mrs. Valentine held Mina's hand and praised her. "Good girl! We spoiled Marcus. If he ever bullies you, come find me! I'll stand up for you!"

"Okay."

Mina nodded obediently.

Mrs. Valentine took off the jade bracelet from her wrist and gave it to her. "This is a family heirloom. It's yours now! When the child is born, if it's a girl, give it directly to her. If it's a boy, keep it for his future wife!"

Mrs. Valentine grinned from ear to ear. "You're so beautiful. My precious grandchild will be gorgeous too!"

Mr. Valentine stared directly at Mina's belly. It was rude, but he couldn't look away thinking about his precious grandchild being there.

All these years, the company was managed by his third brother. It would be passed to his son later, bypassing him, the mediocre eldest son.

He had been idle at home with nothing to do.

If this child was born, wouldn't he get to dote on his grandchild?!

Marcus watched them, then his gaze fell on Mina. His expression shifted several times, extremely unpleasant.

The two families began discussing the wedding date.

Marcus spoke coldly. "No rush. She's pregnant, after all."

Mrs. Valentine made the decision directly. "How about picking an auspicious date next month?"

Remembering the task Grace had given her, the sooner the wedding the better, Mina spoke softly. "Ma'am, that... might not be appropriate?"

Marcus sneered inwardly. At least this woman had some shame.

Just as he thought that, he heard Mina say, "I want to have it this month."

Mrs. Valentine and Mr. Valentine were both stunned. Even Mina's parents and Kevin Sherwood coughed repeatedly, giving her meaningful looks.

No girl should be so desperate to marry!

Mina ignored them, only looking at Mrs. Valentine. "Is that possible?"

Mrs. Valentine nodded. "It's possible, but it would be so rushed. The wedding dress, venue... you might feel wronged..."

Mina said urgently, "We can just get the marriage certificate. The ceremony isn't necessary."

"How can that be?" Mrs. Valentine gripped her hand tightly. "You are our recognized daughter-in-law. We can't wrong you! This month it is! With the Valentine and Sherwood families' resources, I refuse to believe we can't arrange a wedding in a few days!"

The parents picked a date. Mina chose the earliest one, just one week later.

The two families began discussing wedding details. They asked Mina to take Marcus to a room to rest.

Mina agreed obediently and led Marcus upstairs. The moment they entered the room, Marcus grabbed Mina. He pinched her chin, forcing her to look up.

Marcus said viciously, "What? Planning to abort the child? The wedding is in a week. There's still time for the abortion pill, right?"

Mina grabbed his hand. "Marcus, the child is really yours. Three months will be here soon. We can do the amniocentesis then. If it's not yours, I'll abort it immediately. Okay?"

Marcus stared at her, then suddenly laughed scornfully. "So that's why you're in such a hurry to marry me. You know the test can be done after three months. You insist on getting married before three months?!"

Mina's face paled.

Marcus glared at her fiercely. "Tell me, if I go downstairs now and tell them the child isn't mine, what would they do?"

Mina panicked instantly. "Don't!"

"Don't?" Marcus suddenly smiled. He looked at her with a lecherous gaze. "If you want me to wear this green hat properly, shouldn't you do something?"
