Chapter 307

Evelyn's eyes turned sharp.

She grabbed the woman's arm and slapped her hard.

A crisp sound echoed through the air.

The woman's head snapped to the side, her cheek stinging.

She covered her face and shrieked. "How dare you hit me?!"

Evelyn's voice was icy. "You deserved it."

She shoved the woman forcefully into the ball pit.

What the woman did to Chloe, she would return in kind.

This was completely in line with Grace's character.

A mother's bottom line was always her child.

The woman struggled to get up from the sea of plastic balls, her face red and swollen.

She gasped in pain and pointed angrily at Evelyn. "Do you have any idea who I am? I can make you disappear from New York with one word!"

Evelyn found it ridiculous.

Were these spoiled heiresses only capable of this one cliché line?

Even bad novels had more variety.

Mina finally snapped out of her shock.

She had been too stunned by Grace's actions to react earlier.

Now, worried about causing trouble for Grace who had no connections in New York, she stepped forward to deflect. "Fiona Valentine, I know you. You're just throwing your weight around because of the Valentine family. Do you know who we are?"

This woman was one of the distant cousins adopted by the Valentines, named Fiona Valentine. The other was named Penelope Valentine.

Their names alone showed how much the Valentine family longed for a biological daughter.

Unfortunately, the first and second branches of the family tried desperately, but only produced seven sons.

The third branch, Mr. Valentine III, remained unmarried to this day.

The Valentines could only dote on their two adopted daughters as precious treasures.

Their treatment was no different from that of a real heiress.

Outsiders always showed them respect.

Marcus Valentine had once tried to arrange a marriage between Fiona and Alexander Vance, but Alexander refused.

Fiona later married someone in New York.

Fiona squinted and recognized Mina. "Well, well, if it isn't the daughter of a sidelined branch of the Sherwoods! Mina, your family was already cast out by the main line. You dare offend me? Do you want to be blacklisted?"

Mina sneered. "You laid hands on Chloe first. We're just retaliating. Fiona, I suggest you quit while you're ahead. My family may be sidelined, but do you think my uncle will let you bully us?"

Fiona laughed scornfully. "Everyone knows your uncle's branch and yours don't get along... Besides, it was that little brat who threw balls at my son first!"

Evelyn pointed to the security camera. "Playing the victim? Should we check the surveillance footage to see who started it?"

Fiona knew perfectly well.

Her son was a little tyrant on the playground, but she never thought it was his fault.

She scoffed. "You think the footage matters? With one word from me, that footage will have an 'accident' today. What's my son's status? How can your daughter compare? Even if my son beat your daughter to death, we'd just pay a million in compensation. But if you dare lay a finger on my son, I'll ruin you. You could never afford the damages!"

She took out her phone to call for backup. "You hit me? I won't let you leave this amusement park today!"

Mina frowned and stepped forward. "Fiona, should we let Marcus settle this?"

Fiona's finger paused.

She was adopted by the main branch. Marcus was like her own older brother.

But Marcus was the heir groomed by the third uncle, raised under his guidance since childhood.

His position in the Valentine family was special, even more influential than her own father's.

Fiona and Penelope from the second branch were both spoiled at home.

Their other brothers also doted on them as younger sisters.

But both were most afraid of Marcus, the family's troublemaker.

Fiona sneered. "I know you went on a date with my brother recently. But he rejected you. You think he'd fancy you? Who are you trying to scare?"

She turned to Evelyn. "This matter doesn't require bothering my brother. I can handle it myself!"

As soon as she finished speaking, bodyguards rushed over. "Miss, what happened?"

Fiona pointed at Evelyn. "She attacked me. Teach her a harsh lesson!"

"How dare you!" Mina shielded Evelyn. "Fiona, don't go too far!"

Fiona snorted coldly. "Mina, I advise you to stay out of this. These are Valentine-trained bodyguards. You might get hurt by mistake."

She immediately ordered, "What are you waiting for? Get them!"

The bodyguards closed in.

Mina tensely protected Evelyn.

Seeing the several burly men, she was frantic with worry.

Were they going to get beaten up together today?

What should they do?
