Marcus Valentine raised an eyebrow.
"Grace wants the divorce herself?"
Mina Sherwood tightened her grip on the phone.
She had to stop Marcus from interfering with Grace's company.
Mina took a deep breath.
"Yes, it's a plan Grace and I set up."
She quickly explained the prenuptial agreement.
"We want Zack to give up everything willingly."
"The company, the villa, and custody of their daughter must all go to Grace."
Mina's tone was firm.
"So please, don't interfere."
Marcus let out a derisive laugh.
"Miss Sherwood, do you really think I'd believe such a lie?"
He had investigated Grace.
She had been lovesick since college.
She cut ties with her adoptive parents for Zack.
She ended her friendship with Mina for Zack.
Recently, she had been trying hard to please her mother-in-law.
How could a woman like that suddenly wake up?
Besides, Mina didn't have the power to make Sherwood Group drop the lawsuit.
Even if Zack left with nothing, his assets wouldn't be enough to pay the debt.
The logic didn't add up.
Mina wanted to argue, but she had no words.
Even she had once doubted if Grace had really moved on.
The last message Grace sent before blocking her surfaced in her mind.
["Zack hid it from me because he cares about me! He just made a mistake any man could make! If you hadn't told me, he would have come home eventually! I didn't need your reminder!"]
That version of Grace was truly despairing.
Mina stopped explaining.
She said directly, "Mr. Valentine, you promised earlier that you would agree to any request that wasn't excessive."
Marcus's eyes turned cold.
Was she determined to take revenge on Grace?
He suppressed his anger.
His voice was icy.
"Are you sure you want to make this request?"
"Yes."
"Fine, I agree." Marcus looked up, frost in his eyes.
"But you borrowed my influence. It's time to repay it."
Mina was stunned.
She understood what Marcus meant.
Her uncle had let her go today because he mistakenly thought Marcus was interested in her.
If Marcus personally clarified the situation...
Her future would only become more difficult.
But thinking of Grace's plan, she clenched her fists.
"Alright."
Marcus hung up immediately.
Mina hadn't yet realized the consequences of angering him.
She sighed in relief and started the car to drive home.
On the way, she sent a WhatsApp message to Grace.
[Gracie, I did something big today! I'll tell you later!]
Thinking of their intimate night, her cheeks flushed.
She soon arrived home.
She parked the car and hurried inside.
Her steps halted abruptly.
Her parents were kneeling in the center of the hall.
Her uncle sat opposite them, surrounded by bodyguards.
Mina froze completely.
She stepped forward and called out softly, "Dad, Mom..."
"Minmin..."
Her mother's voice choked with sobs.
"How did you offend Mr. Valentine? He just called and said he has nothing to do with you... Please explain quickly. Was he joking? Didn't he come to see you today?"
Her uncle snorted coldly.
"Kneel!"
Mina remained standing.
A bodyguard stepped forward and kicked the back of her knee.
She stumbled to her knees.
"Wretch! How dare you use Mr. Valentine's name! Mr. Locsitant just called and cursed me out!"
Her uncle grabbed her hair.
