Reversal!
Underground parking garage.
Inside the black luxury car.
Alexander Vance and Mr. Valentine remained locked in a stalemate.
The sound of sirens grew closer.
Mr. Valentine narrowed his eyes. "The police are here?"
Alexander recognized Grace Lorenz. He knew she was here for Evelyn. His expression remained unchanged. "Good. If Evelyn truly pushed Isabella, let the law handle it."
Mr. Valentine sneered. "Don't play games with me. Even if that love child didn't do it, Miss Ashcroft dared to frame her. She must pay the price!"
He pushed the car door open and got out.
Alexander followed closely. "Do you want to go upstairs and see, Mr. Valentine?"
Mr. Valentine paused. He looked at Marcus. "Go keep an eye on things. If Isabella suffers any disadvantage, call me immediately."
Marcus nodded. He turned and rushed toward the elevator.
Mr. Valentine then looked at Alexander. "If Miss Nan and her daughter suffer even the slightest grievance, I won't mind leveling this place."
Alexander's gaze was sharp. "I return those words to you. If my wife is wronged, I won't mind crossing blades with you, Mr. Valentine."
…
Outside the hospital room upstairs.
Evelyn faced the cameras. A cold smile touched her lips.
The eldest branch wanted to remove Alexander from power? She would never let Isabella succeed.
The reporters fell silent.
Evelyn's voice was clear and cold. "First, I did not intentionally harm anyone. Second, Isabella's child was never a Vance."
The room erupted in murmurs.
Reporters whispered among themselves.
Evelyn continued. "Isabella had an affair. She became pregnant with another man's child. Afraid it would be discovered, she deliberately framed me for pushing her. She used the opportunity to miscarry…"
Margaret interrupted with a wail. "You're lying! You did wrong and now you slander my daughter-in-law! You and Alexander have evil intentions! Now you bite back!"
The reporters looked at each other. It was difficult to judge.
Someone pressed further. "Mrs. Vance, do you have proof?"
Evelyn nodded. "Of course."
Thomas promptly handed a test report to Margaret. "This is the DNA comparison result between the miscarried fetus and Mr. Julian Evans. Please take a look."
Margaret sneered. She took the report.
Isabella and Linda had just caught up.
Linda saw the report. Her face turned pale. "Isabella, what do we do? I'll grab it back!"
Isabella held her hand. "No need."
She quickly walked to Margaret's side.
Margaret saw the words "no match." Her pupils constricted.
She glared at Isabella. "You—"
Isabella squeezed her hand hard. She spoke first. "Mom, it's all my fault. Evelyn is my family's love child. She has always hated me deeply. That's why she pushed away my child… I failed to protect my child with Julian…"
Margaret's face was livid.
That child was never a Vance!
Julian also walked over. "Mom, show the report to everyone. Vance Group's test reports have anti-counterfeiting marks. Let me verify its authenticity!"
Margaret's expression stiffened.
She certainly recognized the anti-counterfeiting marks. This report was real!
She gritted her teeth. Her mind raced. Finally, she clenched the report in her hand. She looked at Isabella. Her tone suddenly changed. "This report is obviously forged! Isabella, you are so pitiful! Bullied by a love child at home before. Now at the Vance family, Julian and I will support you! We won't let you be wronged again! Evelyn and Alexander must give an explanation today!"
Evelyn frowned.
She hadn't expected Margaret to protect Isabella!
Isabella's child wasn't Julian's. Shouldn't the eldest branch be furious?
She quickly understood.
These reporters weren't called by Margaret. Isabella arranged them!
In front of so many media outlets, if Margaret exposed Isabella, it would only make the eldest branch lose face. Her previous crying was meant to ruin Alexander's reputation.
So even though she discovered the deception, she absolutely could not expose it on the spot!
Evelyn looked at Isabella.
This sister's scheming was far deeper than she imagined.
Margaret couldn't expose her now. She also couldn't make Julian divorce her in the short term. Otherwise, it would inevitably invite suspicion.
Isabella's move was truly brilliant!
Isabella secretly sighed in relief.
She had bet correctly!
She lowered her head. Her eyes were red. "Evelyn, I don't know why you hate me so much. Clearly, you and your mother destroyed my family. Why must you press step by step? I don't care about the lost child anymore. Why must you forge a report to slander me?"
A sharp glint flashed in her eyes.
As long as the eldest branch insisted the report was fake, Evelyn could do nothing!
The child was already miscarried. She could completely claim that embryo wasn't hers. She could say Evelyn deliberately framed her!
Julian angrily scolded. "Evelyn! You and Uncle's methods are too despicable! The child is gone. Now you can say whatever you want?"
Isabella pretended to cry. "Evelyn, the report is fake. What other evidence do you have?"
Evelyn's jaw tightened.
Unexpectedly, with conclusive evidence, the other side could still distort the truth.
She sneered. Just as she was about to speak.
Grace's voice suddenly rang out. "Who says there's no evidence?!"
